An exciting opportunity has become available at AFRIpads and we’re looking for an enthusiastic Training and Education Associate to join our Partnerships department.

About AFRIpads

What You’ll Be Doing:
Are you passionate about empowering communities and making a real difference in menstrual health across Africa? We’re looking for a fun and curious individual to take up the Training & Education Associate role.

Your mission:

Train & Empower: Lead fun, engaging, and informative menstrual health, hygiene and product use training sessions for our customers (both head office and in the field), partners, and community champions. You’ll turn our training material into simple, clear, and fun sessions that inform and inspire.

Analyze & Improve: Dive into our data and training evaluations to uncover what’s working and where we can do better. Your insights will shape our programs to make them even more effective.

Track the Impact: Monitor the use of our training, education and data collection tools and communicate our impact to the department and whole team.

Spread the Word: Be a menstrual health and hygiene champion in Uganda and beyond.

Innovate: Come up with creative ways to make our training and evaluation systems even better through digital formats and unique ways to reach different age groups.

Part of the Team: You’ll also jump in to help other colleagues in the team where necessary – with our pilot studies, advocacy work, communications, donation distributions, and research. We’re looking for someone who sits with us in our Kampala HQ.

What We’re Looking For:

  • People Skills: You can connect with all kinds of people, even on sensitive subjects, and make them feel comfortable. An East African national who gets the communities where we are working, can speak some Luganda, has good written English, and ideally speaks French as well would make the best fit.
  • Experience: You’ve done something similar before in education or training. You can explain things well which are tailored to your audience. You are curious and leave room for discussion and debate. You have familiarity with the social challenges faced by communities in Uganda and across the region. A plus if you have knowledge and experience working on menstrual health and hygiene issues.
  • Problem-Solver: Challenges excite you, and you find ways to overcome them with positive energy.
  • Passion: You care about connecting with people and are eager to make a difference.
  • Get things done: You’re a doer. You can work independently and take initiative as part of our small team.
  • On the go: You have a willingness to be flexible and travel within Uganda or occasionally in the region as needed.

Why Join Us?
You’ll be part of an engaged and motivated team that’s improving lives for girls and women in Africa, breaking stigmas, and committed to closing the gender inequality gap.

  • A 2-year contract upon signing, with a 3 month probation period and an opportunity for performance-based extension
  • Being part of a driven, fun and passionate team working on an important mission
  • Opportunities to learn, grow and follow your own passion

Sound like you? We’d love to hear from you.
